Sheffield United Community Foundation partners with Vizibli to measure its environmental impact

Sheffield United Community Foundation (SUCF) is preparing to launch its new organisational strategy  and at the heart of it is a commitment that goes beyond community programmes.

Environmental responsibility is a formal pillar of the new strategy. SUCF has appointed Jack Parkes as its first dedicated Sustainability Lead, and the Foundation will use Vizibli to measure and report its carbon emissions going forward.

Chris Bailey, CEO of Sheffield United Community Foundation, explains the thinking:

"As a community focused organisation, we understand the impact we have on individuals. It is equally important for us to understand the impact we have on the environment so that we can continue to make positive choices for people and the planet."

This isn't carbon reporting for compliance, it's a deliberate decision by a community organisation to hold itself to the same standard it expects of others — to understand its footprint, and to act on it.

For SUCF, the practical case was equally important. The Foundation's budget exists to fund frontline community delivery, not back-office reporting. Vizibli gives the team an accessible way to understand its carbon footprint without a dedicated sustainability budget or specialist resource — other than Jack, whose role signals just how seriously the Foundation is taking this.

Many charities and community foundations face the same challenge: growing pressure to demonstrate environmental responsibility, and limited capacity to do anything about it. 

Vizibli can be funded through grant applications in many cases — making meaningful carbon measurement genuinely accessible, not just aspirational.
